Due to a high volume of entries, nominations for The Pride of Andover Awards have been extended until the August 31.
In a quest to find people living or working in Andover who are quietly making such a difference to so many lives, the annual awards scheme is giving local people an additional month to fill out entry forms about their favourite person/group.
The awards scheme, which is sponsored by David Mellor Family Jewellers is accepting nominations by post using leaflets distributed around Andover, or via their website www.prideofandoverwards.org.uk.
Karen Hamilton, Chairman of The Pride of Andover Awards says: “Nominations are coming in fast for The Pride of Andover Awards, so we have decided to extend the deadline by a month to make sure everyone can celebrate the outstanding achievements of Andover’s unsung heroes.”
“If you know a selfless and inspirational individual or group that lives or works within a five mile radius of Andover’s town centre, The Pride of Andover Awards is the perfect opportunity to say thank you. But hurry, you’ve only got until the last day of August!”
Th awards scheme includes a range of categories, most of which have been sponsored by generous local businesses. These are Simplyhealth, KP Safety Solutions Ltd, Andover IT, The Breeze Radio and The Andover Gazette. Details of each of these categories and their sponsors can be found via the scheme’s website. The winner of each award will win vouchers from The Lights worth £50, with runners up receiving vouchers worth £25.
The winner of each category will be automatically shortlisted for the Spirit of Andover Award, which is sponsored by the award scheme’s main sponsors, David Mellor Family Jewellers.
